Do not ask for email address in booking widget

Since version 4.10.0 it is possible not to query the customer's email address in the booking process or not to define it as a mandatory field. This support article describes how to set this up.


Step 1: Configure Calenso in the settings

Open booking widget settings and search for the following settings:


  • Ask customers for email address when booking
  • The customer email address is a required field



If "Ask customers for email address when booking" is enabled, then customers will be asked for the email address. If this setting is disabled, then customers will NOT be asked for the email address.


If "Customer email address is a required field" is enabled, then it is mandatory to enter the email address when booking, so that a booking can be sent. If the setting is disabled, then the customer can decide for themselves if they want to provide the email address.


Restrictions: If the e-mail address is not requested, then the e-mail address cannot be defined as a mandatory field. Furthermore, the customer can only select "SMS" for the "Notification type".
