Booking an appointment from the customer's perspective

The booking widget is the heart of your online appointment booking. Step by step, your customer is guided through the booking process. You can configure many things yourself and customize them according to your needs. The images below are from the automatically created microsite that every Calenso customer can use for his business. Have a look at other integration options to see what the widget looks like otherwise. You can find instructions on how to do this in the "Integration" category.


Step 1: Select service

In the first step, your customers choose the service. Among other things, they see your stores and the categories of your services. They can expand these to select specific services. Time, price and a hint button with a detailed explanation are displayed. You can configure them all by yourself.


Step 2: Resource

This step is only displayed if several employees are available for the selected services. If only one person has the capability for this service, this step is skipped. You activate the "No matter who" button in the settings for the booking widget. The customer sees the display image of the employee, the function and of course the name. The employee can adjust these settings in the profile


Step 3: Select date and time

As soon as a staff member (or the no matter who button) has been selected, all available appointments are listed in the next step. By selecting a date, all available times will appear. Here the hint appears that several dates can be arranged per booking.


Example: A customer chooses a date for this service on November 13th at 12:00 and another one on November 28th at 09:30. This setting can be made in the general settings of the booking widget. In the background, Calenso compares all external calendars and checks the availability of the employee. This means that there are no double bookings or overlaps with other appointments.


Step 4: Completion

The customer is shown a summary of his selected services with the appointment with the corresponding employee. The customer's general data is queried according to the settings in the booking widget. The questions below are so-called booking questions. These can be defined by the customer and marked as mandatory or optional. 

If you have set up online payment, it will also appear under this item.

By clicking on "Book" the date is definitely booked.

Below the buttons, you can change the language of the widget. If you have customers who use this function, it is essential that you update your services in the corresponding languages. All other fields, which are Calenso's own, will be automatically translated. Find out more about multilingualism here. The languages displayed can be edited in the widget settings.
