Differences of iFrame and Web Component

The Calenso booking widget can be integrated using two different web technologies. Both technologies have advantages and disadvantages, which are briefly explained below.

Web component

Web components are an extension of the HTML and DOM specification currently being made by the Word Wide Web consortium (W3C). They are inherently encapsulated, reusable widgets and components that can be incorporated into web pages and web applications. The design of web components can be overridden by the web page. The height of the web component can change automatically and no scrollbar is displayed on the web page.

iFrame

With an iFrame, content from other providers can be embedded in a website. This is a proven method, but it also comes with some limitations. When the height of the iFrame changes, it does not adjust automatically. Instead, a scrollbar is displayed. On the other hand, it ensures that design changes on your website cannot affect the design of the booking widget.
